The rhetoric of peacemaking is easy. Living as a peacemaker is a far more difficult proposition. This is especially so when being bombarded non-stop by narcissistic, enemy-making messaging in advertising and social media. We are not only being bombarded by that messaging, but that messaging provides rewards (likes, subscribers, monetization, etc.) if you do a good job of being adversarial and controversial. Being a peace-making follower of Jesus in these days is going to be a costly endeavor.
