Michael Hardin
Michael Hardin is the Executive Director of Opus Pistis. Opus Pistis exists to preserve, develop, teach, and carry forward a theological vision centered upon the nonviolent God revealed in Jesus Christ.
Michael is a theologian, author, lecturer, and internationally known speaker whose work spans theology, biblical interpretation, Christian history, the human sciences, and the relationship between religion and violence. His work explores the role of desire in shaping human relationships, religion, and culture, with a particular focus on the nonviolent love of God revealed in Jesus Christ.
Deeply influenced by René Girard, whom he knew for 25 years, Michael has devoted his life to recovering a Jesus-focused vision of the Gospel and making complex theological ideas accessible and transformative. He is the founder and Executive Director of Preaching Peace and co-founder of Theology and Peace. He is the author of several books, including The Jesus Driven Life: Reconnecting Humanity with Jesus and Liberating the Gospel from Christian Myth.
