Dr. Sharon L. Baker Putt is a theologian, author, and professor of theology and religion at Messiah University. Her work explores nonviolent theology, atonement, justice, hell, and the character of God revealed in Jesus. She is the author of Razing Hell: Rethinking Everything You’ve Been Taught about God’s Wrath and Judgment, Executing God, and A Nonviolent Theology of Love: Peacefully Confessing the Apostles’ Creed.

Sharon challenges violent and retributive understandings of God, atonement, and divine justice, exploring instead a vision of God’s self-giving love revealed in Christ. Her work calls Christians towards reconciliation, peace, and a more faithful understanding of the God revealed in Jesus.
