Dr. Anthony Bartlett

Dr Anthony Bartlett is a theologian, author, and teacher based in New York. Along with his wife, Linda, he is a founder and leader of the Bethany Centre for Nonviolent Theology and Spirituality. His work explores the intersection of theology, nonviolence, biblical interpretation, and the transformation of human relationships. Deeply influenced by René Girard’s insights into mimetic desire and scapegoating, he has written extensively on the nonviolent character of God revealed in Jesus Christ and its implications for peace and reconciliation. He is the author of numerous articles and books, including his latest work, Love’s Entanglement: God as Nonviolent Relation and How That Brings the World to Peace (2026).
